Sad but true, Adobe tries hard to ruin the reputation of the Flash plugin by adding unrelated potentially dangerous software downloads on Flash Player security updates. Last update forced an install of Mc Afee virus scan – additionally to the virus scanner that was already installed. Of course this business ethics abiding behaviour won’t be without bad results for us Flash/Flex developers since it directly affects the market for business related applications based on the flash plugin.

The reasons are simple. No company can risks hundreds and thousands of machines getting security holes or stopping working just because Adobe wants to make some extra money with such dirty methods. Bad move, Adobe!

As for Mc Afee, everybody still buying there products makes a big fault. Nobody should trust a security company that uses the methods of trojan, virus and scareware authors – drive by downloads. If you still buy their products, don’t expect to get treated well. That company made a clear statement how much customers can trust them when they forced their unwanted software on millions of computers.
