I just spent half a day searching for the reason why Flex debugging stop working. When hitting the debug window a new browser window opened but the flash plugin didn’t connect onto the waiting Flex Builder. I reinstalled the plugin, reinstalled Flex, spent lots of time googling the problem, tried various advices, even resetted the access rights for the hard disc but nothing worked.

Then finally after I was about to give up my hunt and looked for the OSX install disc for a complete new system I decided to try what happens when I disable Little Snitch. And voila, Flex debugger was back. Understanding that Lil Snitch was the cause I checked the configuration but both Safari and Flex Builder only had green lights to it, so I looked further. But didn’t find anything. So I reenabled Little Snitch expecting to not be able to debug any further but it still worked.

This leaves me a bit puzzled but at least I am back to being productive (:
